Sir.
I am directed to acknowlelge the receipt of your letter

of the 10th of this month, No. 14749/1905, enclosing a copy of a despatch from the Governor of Hong Kong on the subject of a Postal Arrangement which has been concluded between that
Colony and Chim, and to request that you will be so good as
to express to the Secretary of State for the Colonies the
Postmaster General's regret that no reply was sent to the
previous letters concerning this arrangement. the file of
papers on the subject having been unfortunately mis laid.
The advantages of concluding with the Chinese authorities
an agreement on the lines of the Franco-Chinese Agreement
were urged by this office upon the Hong Kong Post Office some
time ago; and the Postmaster General is glad to learn that
such an arrangement has now been arrived at.
With reference to the application, by this Arrangement,
of various provisions of the Postal Convention of Washington,
it will of course be borne in mind that the next Congress
nder Secretary of State.
